Year 2 design studio at CAA Hangzhou
The head of the School of Architecture of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou – Wang Shu – invited me to teach
a five week studio for twenty second year students in March and April 2010. The resulting work was shown in an
exhibition as a contribution to that year's Stone and Tree Forum, at which I also gave a presentation.
During the five weeks, we met and worked on three mornings each week. On the first day we worked as one group, then individually, and later in four groups of five students each. The illustration above shows one of the two final structures as a result of a series of explorations based on prompting questions.
The slides give an impression of the course and the exhibition. More information can be found on some pages in the leverworks section of this site.
